Dear Building Department Staff,
This letter is being written to be submitted with the construction drawings for the
replacement of an exterior wooden stairway at Sunset Villa Apartments. The stair extends
from the ground level to a second story storage area of 200 s.f.
The contractors estimate for the cost of the stair demolition and replacement is $5,500.00.
The current building is a Type V -B multi -family apartment building and contains 17,480
s.f. of building area. Of this total building area, 400 s.f. is for the above mentioned storage
area and a first floor laundry room. Please use these area sizes in your calculation of the
buildings' value as required by RCW 64.55 Building Enclosure Law.
