Pile King has been selected to drive the pin piles recommended in the HWA report dated
October 31, 2007. The HWA report and the Pile King work plan were submitted to get the
permit. There were discrepancies between the HWA report and the Pile King work plan and the
Zn
needs of the project have change. This memo includes several comments that will bring the
work plan and the report into compliance and will focus. both on the needs of the current project.
1. The pin piles will be 2 -inch, Schedule 80, galvanized pipe. (Modification to HWA
Report)
2. The pin piles will be driven to refusal with a 90 pound jack hanuner. (Modification to
HWA report)
3. HWA will locate the pin piles. (Modification to HWA report)
4. The footings will. be stabilized in place without changing their elevation. (Modification
to I -TWA report)
S. Six piles will be used along the foundation wall and two will be placed on the roof
support columns. (Modification to Pile King drawings)

BRACKETPILE FOUNDATION REPAIR
Side-wall attachment for deep foundations. Bracketpiles are a combination of heavy steel angle
bracket and steel pipe piling. They are -used to prevent further settling of foundation where deep
excavations are not appropriate.

1.) Excavate alongside existing foundation
wall,.typically 12" -18" is sufficient to install
bracket below grade .
2.) Determine width of footing and position
pile accordingly - approximately 6" from
existing wall
3.) Drive 2", 3", or 4" pipe pile to appropriate
refusal critieria as vertically and as close to
footing as possible
4.) Cut off pipe pile appropriate height and
measure distance from wall to center of pile
5,) Custom fabricate each bracket by welding
bracket sleeve at the same position as pile
measured in (4) above
6.) Install bracket into pile, rotohammer thru
bracket holes
7.) Install 4 each 314" anchor bolts
8.) Backfill excavated area and thouroughly
handtamp
-- Side-wall brackets are shop fabricated Using 112" 8" x 8" or 1f2" 12" x 12" plate stock and 112" thick

-- The sleeves are custom fit for each bracket location.
-- All welding is done by certified welders.
