Attached is a PDF file of the fax regarding the one outstanding item of the roof height. The following is our response to your comment. Response: You are right that the calculation was made from the 1 st finish floor as it appears on the drawing. The fact is the building is a slab on grad building and has no steps when entering the first level. Though we are not providing a survey of the site with this submittal the terrain throughout the general vicinity of the building is relatively flat. The asphalt is flush with our building slab, and if anything we are below the average grade by 6 inches because of the Port of Edmonds esplanade walkway the wraps around the North and West side of the building. It is safe to say that the average grade is the same as the elevation of the 1 st finished floor. In addition to that side of the coin, most jurisdictions have a policy that allows a building owner to do repairs and replacements with out the need of a permit. Would this not fall under those circumstances. We are simply replacing what is already in place with a more sturdy, and sustainable product. The siding material is a standing seam roofing material that will now match the existing metal panel roof already on site. This should be a more aesthetically pleasing option for all that see it. We ask that you please accept our reasoning on this and hope that this satisfies the cities review of the project.
