The above referenced project is in the process of plan review for compliance with
Edmonds ordinances and applicable codes (Fi e,: Su :-) ress uo n oifly). The following
comments, deficiencies/corrections must be addressed prior to completion of plans review
and subsequent issuance of permits.
Provide revised plans and calculations along with a written response to each of the items
listed below to facilitate a shorter back -check time.
SCOPE OF REVIEW
The scope of this review is for kire Suppression requirements of this project.
All features were checked only to the extent allowed by the submittals provided. All
portions of this project are assumed to meet or will meet other departmental requirements,
conditions and concerns before permit approval.

FIRE SUPPRESSION COMMENTS
Sheet 2: Floor Plan View
1. There is no seismic bracing shown or specified on the plans. This review is assuming
that the pipe is attached directly to the ceiling trusses. If not, then seismic bracing will
be required and plans must be resubmitted showing the bracing. Please clarify this on
the drawings. NFPA 13R, 6.13 (2007)
2. In the shower and tub rooms, please relocated the sprinkler heads so that they entirely
cover the recessed spaces occupied by the tub and the shower. NFPA 13R, 4.1 (2007)
3. In both the Rec Room and Dining Room, it appears that the there are vaulted ceilings
which occupy only a part of the room's ceilings thereby creating ceiling pockets.
These pockets are large enough to require sprinkler heads inside the pockets. NFPA
13, 3.3.4 (2010) for definition of pocket & NFPA 13R, 6.8.1.5.4 (2007)
Additional corrections may be required following receipt of corrections and additional
information as requested.
Your plans are being reviewed concurrently with the Building Department, Fire
Department, Zoning Department and Public Works Engineering. Changes, clarifications
or additional corrections may be required subsequent to the Building Department plan
review when comments are received from the other concerned departments.
