During review of the plans for the above noted project, it was found that the following information,
clarifications or changes are needed. Please provide written responses as to where the changes can
be found on the plans, and submit revised plans/documents to Marie Harrison, Senior Permit
Coordinator. Text in italics indicates comments from the previous correction letter.
1.Please provide structural calculations for the seismic connections of the roof top mechanical
units as they are each over 400 pounds. Include connections for unit-to-curb as well as
curb-to-roof. The response from the structural engineer states the calculations will be
provided by the manufacturers mechanical engineers. Please provide stamped and signed
calculations and details for these units from a Washington state licensed engineer.

2. Please revise the Outdoor Air Calculations as shown on sheet M-1.0. They do not seem to
agree with IMC Equation 4-1 and Table 403.3. The volumes proposed are still insufficient
according to my calculations. For example, you show a default value of 5 occupants per
1000 SF and 5 cfm per person for the Exam rooms. Using the category of Medical
procedure rooms the values to use are 20 and 15, respectively. This gives a total outdoor air
requirement of 135 cfm for the Exam rooms, compared to 30 cfm as you show. In short, the
OA minimums calculated in this review are as follows:
RTU-1: 244 cfm RTU-2: 280 cfm RTU-3: 334 cfm
RTU-4: 168 cfm RTU-5: info not provided
Please revise your calculations accordingly, and include calculations for RTU-5 also. If you
wish to justify lower figures than my calculations, please provide more in-depth information
regarding the use and categorization of each space.
