During review of the plans for the above noted project, it was found that the following information,
clarifications or changes are needed. Please provide written responses as to where the changes can
be found on the plans, and submit revised plans/documents to Marie Harrison, Senior Permit
Coordinator. Text in italics indicates previous review comment.
1.Please provide outside air calculations for each fan coil unit as required by IMC 403. If the
tabular values from Table 403.3 are not used, please show calculations that comply with the
exceptions allowed in sections 403.2 and 403.3. The OSA minimums that I calculate using
Equation 4-1 are significantly different than those you have submitted. It appears that your
calculations have not included the entire equation. Using the example of the 4000 (approx.)
square foot sanctuary my calculations using Equation 4-1 and Table 403.3 require 2640 cfm
for FCU-1. Another example using the classroom area of 3700 sf produces a minimum of
1300 cfm for FCU-4. Please revisit and revise your calculations, or justify the lesser amounts
by means of the exceptions referenced above.
