During review of the plans for the above noted project, it was found that the following information,
clarifrcations'or changes are needed. Please provide written responses as to where the changes can
be found on the plans, and submit revised plans/documents to a Permit Coordinator.
1. Identify 3"x3"x.229" plate washers on anchor bolts.
2. Provide Health Department review letter.
3. Provide blocking attachment requirements for the canopy tension rod and thrust block
connections.
4. hldicate the type of wainscoting materials and location: height of at least 48" within the 24"
space adjacent to the water closet.
5. ADA signage requirements for the unisex restroom.
6. A permanent ladder per IMC Section 306.5 shall be installed to provide access to the roof
mechanical equipment. If a hatch is to be provided above the storage room for access, provide a
new roof framing plan that allows for the enlarged opening.
7. Provide rooftop HVAC specifications including economizer requirements, if applicable. If the
unit weighs in excess of 400 lbs, provide gravity and seismic restraint requirements.
8. The second story does not meet the maximum 1/3 floor area to be identified as a mezzanine.
Indicate the use of the space. If the space is to be used as storage, justify the lighter live loads
using Table 1607.1.
9. The proposed stairs do not meet the 2009 IBC code definition (1002.1) for a spiral Stairway,
radiating from a minimum diameter supporting column. Due to a low occupant load, if the
upstairs space is to be used as storage, the proposed stairs could be considered as an alternate
method, if you would like to provide justification, including the minimum tread width at the 12"
walk -line, and the minimum clear width.
10. Indicate guard and handrail requirements for the stairway.
11. If the space is too used for other than storage, a conventional means of egress will be required.
