During review of the plans for the above noted project, it was found that the following information,
clarifications or changes are needed. Please provide written responses as to where the changes can
be found on the plans, and submit revised plans/documents to a Permit Coordinator. Thank you.
1.Please modify stair detail 2/A1.1 to show the following handrail dimensions:
a.Height above the stair nosings between 34 and 38 inches. IBC 1012.2
b.The top extension shall extend horizontally at least 12 inches beyond the top riser.
c.The bottom extension shall continue to slope for the depth of one tread beyond the
bottom riser. IBC 1012.6
2.Show R10 slab perimeter insulation on details 4/A6.1 and 4/A6.3. It is indicated as such on
the energy worksheets. WSEC Table 13-1
3.The Exterior Lighting Summary indicates using Zone 4 instead of Zone 2 which is
appropriate for this location. Please submit a reworked copy of this form using Zone 2 and
the corresponding wattage allowances. It is noted that the proposed wattages for the project
will comply even at the lower allowances; however, it is important to have accurate
documentation for the project.
4.Please provide design calculations and details for the modular block retaining walls on site.
These documents must be stamped and signed by a Washington State licensed engineer, and
reference the design assumptions in the Geotechnical Investigation by Golder and Associates
dated October 4, 2004.
5.Please sign and return the attached Special Inspection Agreement forms.
