The following comments, deficiencies/corrections must be addressed prior to completion of plans review and subsequent issuance of permits. Provide revised plans and calculations along with a written response to each of the items listed below to facilitate a shorter back -check time. SCOPE OF REVIEW The scope of this review is for .faire Yuppression requirements of this project. All features were checked only to the extent allowed by the submittals provided. All portions of this project are assumed to meet or will meet other departmental requirements, conditions and concerns before permit approval. Page 2 of 3 EECE# EDM 11-09 Edmonds Way Apartments 2011-0966 EECE EDM 11-09 FIRE SUPPRESSION COMMENTS Sheet 1 of 4 In the Parking Garage and Office Area Notes, it states that lateral braces can be a maximum of 20 feet from the end of the piping. Since the 2007 edition of NFPA 13, this has been changed to six feet from the end. Make changes to the notes. NFPA 13 (2010), 9.3.5.3.5 2. Provide additional bracing on all the mains where they change directions in order to comply with the above comment. (Lateral braces shall be within 6 feet of the end of the pipe.) NFPA 13 (2010), 9.3.5.3.5 3. Per the scaled drawings, the sprinkler heads, in the garage on the left side along the wall with the stairs, are too far from the wall (about 11 feet). The maximum allowed is 10 feet per the specs for the head being used (TFP220) Sheets 2. 3.4 of 4 4. No comment General Requirements 5. Provide a full -height cross-section of the building. NFPA 13 (2010), 22.1(4) Calcs 6. Add the required combined inside and outside hose -flow to your calculations. Changes, clarifications or additional corrections may be required subsequent to the Building Department plan review when comments are received from the other concerned departments.
