Re: Old Milltown Trash Enclosure Requirement
Dear Daryl,
Than1c, you for your letter outlining the 60 day trial period we discussed at our meeting yesterday. The
City Development Services Department has released the pavement striping permit. with the caveat that the
pal-kilIg stalls in the southwest corner ol' the lot be painted with hash marks as shown in the drawing you
provided and the issued plans.
I would like to clarify at this time the City has not agreed to waive the requirement for a trash and recycle
enclosure at this site. The requirement is being suspended temporarily for a 60 day trial period beginning
when Las Brisas opens. The purl:)ose of this trial period is to allow property management to work with the
tenants and. the local waste company on a way to handle trash and recycling for the Old Milltown tenants
without a trash and recycle enclosure. Once the 60 day trial period ends, a meeting between the property
manager, a representative from the local waste company and City representatives will be held to discuss
whether an alternate system was created that satisfies the needs of the tenants and the other parties
involved. Depending on the outcome of that meeting, the City will make a decision either to enforce the
requirement for a trash and recycle enclosure or waive the reqUirCuICTIt.
I look forward to meeting with you again after the trial, period to hear the alternatives you have found for
your tenants.
Sincerely,
Phil Williams
