During a review of the plans for the above noted project, it was found that the following
information, clarifications or changes are needed. Please provide written responses as to where the
changes can be found on the plans, cloud all changes on the revised plans, and submit the revised
plans/documents to a Permit Coordinator. Thank you.
On page 2:
1.General Specifications Codes Change the WSEC year from 2006 to 2009.
2.General Specifiactions - Structural Change the code section references from IRC to
IBC.
3.Clarify the means to be used to limit the deflection of the #2 2x10 Hem-fir framing members
forming the trellis over the windows of the east wall. Consideration should be taken due to
the prominent placement of the structure, even if the deflection is within the allowable
structural limits.
4.The door arrangement in the Airlock does not meet all of the requirements of IBC
1008.1.8. There must be 48 inches of space between the two door in series beyond the width
of the door swinging into the space.
5.The Airlock door locks/latches must be panic hardware or meet all of the requirements of
1008.1.9.3.
6.Provide a detail of the existing roof framing over the Airlock. If the rafters are supported
by a ridge beam bearing on the header over the two 3.0x6.8 doors, the 2x8 DF may be
overspanned.
7.Provide a detail for the attachment of the safety glazed panels enclosing the Existing Deck
and the Airlock that meets the requirements of IBC Chapter 16. When in place, removable
panels are required to meet the same requirements as fixed panels.
