Please provide written responses as to where the changes can be found on the plans, cloud all changes on the revised plans, and submit the revised plans/documents to a Permit Coordinator. Thank you. On page 1: 1.Indicate the required attachment of the deck ledger to the primary structure per R502.2.2. Table 502.2.2.1 – found on page 5 of the attached MyBuildingPermit handout – provides fastener spacing for a variety of deck configurations and connection criteria. 2.Indicate the required attachment of the deck ledger for lateral loads per R502.2.2.3. Detail #1/Option #2 – found on page 4 of the attached MyBuildingPermit handout – provides a possible means to meet this requirement. 3.Indicate the required bracing at the north beam line to laterally support the deck structure per R502.2.2. Knee bracing – represented in the ‘Post to Beam Connection w/ Knee Brace’ detail on page 3 of the attached MyBuildingPermit handout – provides a possible means to meet this requirement. ‘Sway -’ or ‘diagonal bracing’, boards attached with 2-16d nails to the underside of each deck joist in a diagonal ‘V’ or ‘W’ pattern, may also be used to meet the requirement. 4.Clarify the method to be used to support the north end of the 7-foot long deck joists at the west end of the deck and the angled, cantilevered joists adjacent the triple-joist. 5.Indicate the framing members and method to be used to construct the mid-level stair landing. 6.Provide a stair section indicating the proposed construction to meet the requirements of R311.7. The ‘Sample Stair Section’, found in ‘Attachment B’of the attached City of Edmonds handout, illustrates the code requirements.
