During a review of the plans for the above noted project, it was found that the following
information, clarifications or changes are needed. Please provide written responses as to where the
changes can be found on the plans, cloud all changes on the revised plans, and submit the revised
plans/documents to a Permit Coordinator. Thank you.
General note:
1.Indicate on the plans the means to be used to resist lateral loads due to wind and seismic
forces per R301.1.
On page 2:
2.Framing Plan Clarify the difference in the size of the structure using the ¼=10 scale
provided and that noted on the Floor Plan on page 1 and the Ridge Beam Support Detail &
Attachment to Existing Roof detail on page 3 to guide proper review, construction, and
inspection.
3.Framing Plan Clarify the callout for the 3-1/8x10-1/2 (noted as 3.125x10 on the plans)

deflects beyond that allowed per Table 301.7. When selecting a beam, provide the required
species, layup, and grade, to guide proper construction and inspection.
4.Framing Plan Clarify the callout for the 5-1/8x12 GLB to be used to support the king post
at the end of the ridge beam (identified in the Rafter Ties @ Beam Detail on page 3) it
appears to be over spanned and deflects beyond that allowed per Table 301.7. When
selecting a beam, provide the required species, layup, and grade, to guide proper
construction and inspection.
5.Footing/Support Detail Clarify the difference in the maximum height allowed for the 6x6
post between grade and the support beam and that represented in the Left Elevation on page
1, the Front Elevation on page 2, and the Ridge Beam Support Detail & Attachment to
Existing Roof detail on page 3 to guide proper review, construction, and inspection.
On page 3:
6.Rafter Ties @ Beam Detail Clarify the maximum overhang noted and the total width of the
structure noted in the Floor Plan on page 1, the Front Elevation on page 2, and scaled from
the Framing Plan on page 2, to guide proper review, construction, and inspection.
