During a review of the plans for the above noted project, it was found that the following
information, clarifications or changes are needed. Please provide written responses as to where the
changes can be found on the plans, cloud all changes on the revised plans, and submit the revised
plans/documents to a Permit Coordinator. Thank you.
On page 1:
1.Indicate on the plans the required landing at the sliding door per R311.3. At a minimum, the
landing needs to be as wide as the operable portion of the door and 36 inches deep in the
direction of travel. It needs to be within 7-3/4 of the top of the door threshold.
On page 2:
2.Indicate on the plans the distance between the posts supporting, or the span of the 4x6
beams. Include the amount of overhang, or cantilever, where applicable.
3.Indicate on the plans the distance between the 4x6 beams or span of the 2x6 joists. Include
the amount of overhang, or cantilever, where applicable.
4.Clarify the callout for the 3/8x5 wedge anchors placed 24 on-center for the attachment of
the ledger they do not appear to meet the loading conditions represented on the plans.
Estimating a six foot distance from the first beam line to the ledger (see plan review note
#3), an approximate 150 pound-per-lineal-foot (PLF) load would need a minimum 1/2 inch
bolt, embedded 6-inches in concrete, placed at 24 on-center, to support the load per the
National Design Specification for Wood Construction (NDS).
