Please provide written responses as to where the changes can be found on the plans, and submit revised plans/documents to a permit coordinator in the Development Services Department. Thank you. 1.Architect, please stamp and sign applicable plan sheets per state law. If the designer is not a licensed architect, please disregard this comment. 2.The lateral design of the structure does not meet the prescriptive structural provisions of the International Residential Code. Either provide structural calculations to justify the current design per current engineering standards, or revise the plans to meet the prescriptive requirements of IRC section R602.10. This applies to the lateral bracing both above and below the level of the existing deck. 3.Please provide gravity loading calculations for the 4x8 ridge beam and the 4x8 roof beam supporting the end of the ridge beam. 4.Please provide gravity loading calculations for the floor framing below the new exterior walls in order to justify the adequacy of the current framing to handle the new loads. 5.Add notes or details showing post and beam connections for the roof framing. 6.Add notes or details showing the attachment of the deck ledger to the house. 7.Show the size of the pile footings in order to verify the bearing capacity of the footings. 8.Show how the new structure is structurally tied to the existing roof and walls to prevent separation failure. 9.Indicate on the plans the type and thickness of roof sheathing. 10.ReviewerÂ’s note: The use of pressure treated (PT) posts and studs in the walls is not required where protected from weather. You may remove this notation from the plans if you wish.
