for the new garage project at 1246 Viewland Way, Edmonds, Washington.

BACKGROUND:
As required by City of Edmonds, this engineer performed a geotechnical
investigation for the proposed new garage structure. Geotechnical issues were
primarily concerned with the adjacent "steep slope" zone at the rear (easterly) of the
property.
Project architect incorporated the geotechnical recommendations for the project
in the plans and was subsequently granted a permit.
INSPECTIONS.
This engineer observed excavation as required by City of Edmonds (see photos),
The subgrade soils was verified to provide a minimum of 2,000 p.s.f, bearing
capacity.
All excavation complied with the layout and setback distance per approved plans,

Follow up inspections verified proper subgrade bearing, crushed rock sub -base,
form work and reinforcing steel.
"OK" to proceed with concrete placement per City of Edmonds approved plans.
All temporary erosional control measures were approved by this engineer:
siltation fencing, confinement of all work within property lines, and no adverse impact to
the adjacent "steep slope".
Geotechnical inspections verified proper compliance with the recommendations
of the Geotechnical Report, City of Edmonds approved plans, and normal, good
construction practices.
0 "OK" to place concrete per City of Edmonds approved plans and inspections.
