During a review of the plans by the Building Division for the above noted project, it was found that
the following information, clarifications, or changes are needed. A complete review cannot be
performed until the revised plans/documents, including a written response indicating where the
clouded or otherwise highlighted changes can be found on the revised plans, have been submitted
to a Permit Coordinator. Reviews by other divisions, such as Planning, Engineering, or Fire, may
result in additional comments. Items that recur on this list appear in italics.
On sheet A1:
1.Proposed Foundation Plan - Clarify the callout for the SB5/8x24 anchor bolts to be used to
attach the HDU2-SDS2.5 holdowns at each end of the two P1-6 shearwalls along the
west side of the garage. The lengths of the stemwalls do not appear to meet the
manufacturers installation requirements of the anchor bolts. The unique installation criteria
of holdown anchorages require those details to be included in the referenced details.
On sheet A8:
2.Proposed Finishes Plan - Indicate on the plans the method to be used to provide the required
whole house mechanical ventilation per M1507.3 for the portion of the structure to be used
as an ADU. The provision of a wall-mounted whole house vent, as represented on the
plans, does not appear to be equivalent to any of the four mechanical ventilation methods
found in section M1507.3.
