I have indicated on the drawing the new relocated exit door and the drive thru canopy. There are no other changes to the site other than the removal of the old Dairy Queen sign that use to extend out from the building and the addition of the stone chimney facade to be added to the west wall. The chimney facade will not be proud of the existing wall more than the thickness of the stone itself, approximately 2 1/2" - 3" and the inside wall will have slate the applied to it over hardy board. The framing required will be to fill in where two windows were and a box on the roof 2'X 12' to extend the chimney up 3' above the existing wall for a total height of 18'6" above the sidewalk. There will be no modification to the existing shear wall. 2) We understand that this building is Type V-A 1 hour construction and I have indicated that on the plans. We don't anticipate making any changes the the building as our work is limited to the cosmetic. For example new tile floors, paint inside and out and new furnishings. With that said, if that should change or we encounter anything about the structure that does not meet that criteria, we will make corrections. 3) Our dining room design has increased our seating capacity to 58. 1 have marked the new occupancy group on the site plan as A-2. 4) We will post a sign indicating the capacity at 58 and show its location in the dining room on the plans. 5) We will be relocating the drink counter/ soda machine in the dining room about 8' to the north and have indicated its location in the plans. 6) We understand that this building is Type V-A 1 hour construction and I have indicated that on the plans. We don't anticipate making any changes the the building as our work is limited to the cosmetic. For example new the floors, paint inside and out and new furnishings. With that said, if that should change or we encounter anything about the structure that does not meet that criteria, we will make corrections. 7) We will be installing a new door and it will include panic hardware. I have indicated its location and its hardware on the drawings. 8) Although I have not seen it, there is a suspended ceiling detail (cloud) hanging from the existing ceiling. It will be below the grid and ceiling tiles, lighting ,if any, will be passing through this cloud and hang above the tables. We will be receiving this cloud along with the furnishings and we will be suspending it from above, probably all-thread secured to the underside of the roof framing and passing through the acoustic tile ceiling. We have had these clouds in all of the restaurants we have remodeled in the last few years, but this is the first job we have not built the clouds ourselves. 9) The hexagonal references found all over the drawings refer to a key indicating the specifications for materials used. Such as type of paint and color, tile to be used and counter top materials. 10) The chimney we will be building is not a 2X10 thick wall, in fact we will not be building a wall at all. We will be applying tile to the inside and stone to the outside. The framing we will be doing is required to create the top of the chimney above the roof and to fill in where we are covering two windows to increase the size of the wall to twelve feet in width. We will not be modifying the shear wall other than to apply stone and the to it. 11) Regarding the eyebrow, apparently there are no structural plans other then what we already have. I inquired about this and the response was that it is aluminum and very light and is to be lagged to the building. I am going to use two 1/4" X 6" galvanized lag bolts at each connection to the building. I'll provide pictures of the other installations in the area (Everett, Lynnwood, Bothell) which may help with clarification. 12) Regarding the drive thru canopy, apparently there are no structural plans other then what we already have. I inquired about this and the response was that it is aluminum and very light and is to be lagged to the building. I am going to use the appropriate size and number of galvanized lag bolts at each connection to the building. I'll provide pictures of the other installations in the area (Everett, Lynnwood, Bothell) which may help with clarification. 13) Other then the stone for the chimney, there is no cladding being done on this remodel, paint only and we will be using Benjamin Moore Aura. We will however be adding Hardy panel siding to the garbage enclosure as the surface of the block walls are such that they no longer will except paint. 14) We are not using the Alpolic panels on this remodel only paint. 15) The accessibility in this building seems to be fairly current, however I have noticed a few things that can be improved on. We will make those improvements to bring the space up to code. , & i -1 r , 6") 16) 1 will provide a scoll'e/ t1of work for this project and an estimate of the cost. I will be included this information with the drawings you have requested.
