Below are the structural response to the plan review comments, dated September 12
2014. Our responses correspond to the Building Division comment numbers.
8. Header #5 has been removed from the plan and the calculation is no longer valid.
9. Main floor beam #4 has been revised to show the worst case loading condition of th';
garage floor joist. The calculation is attached, and the plan reflects the beam size
change.

14. The calculation is attached showing upper floor beam # 6 as L 3 % x 11 7/8 with 4%
feet of tributary area.
15. The point load on upper floor beam #7 has been revised, and the calculation is
attached,
16. The maximum allowable notch, as calculated, gives a dn of 5.28 inches. Detail D allows
for a notch less than the allowable notch, giving a do of 7 % inches. The detail does not
need to be revised, as structurally we do not want the d, value to be less than 7
inches.
