During a review of the plans by the Building Division for the above noted project, it was found that
the following information, clarifications, or changes are needed. Reviews by other divisions, such
as Planning, Engineering, or Fire, may result in additional comments.
The purpose of the ADU Compliance permit is to verify that the welfare and life safety
requirements for the creation of two separate dwelling units within a structure originally designed as
a single dwelling unit currently exist or have been met through the completion of work under a
separate permit.
In this instance, a separate permit (BLD2014-0518) was obtained to allow a portion of the existing
structure to be used as an Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) as permissible by the conditions of an
approved Type 2 Conditional Use permit (PLN2014-0026).
Approval of the ADU Compliance permit cannot be granted until the required work under permit
BLD2014-0518 has been completed and verified by inspection.
