November 18, 2014 Lief Bjorback Building Official City of Edmonds Project: Scratch Distillery 190 Sunset Ave, Suite A BLD20140907 Review Type: Plan Check 2014-0907 Response to Memorandum dated October, 2014 Mr. Bjorback: The following are our responses to Plan Check 2014-0907 190 Sunset Ave Suite A Scratch Distillery: Correction #1: Architect, please stamp and sign all plan sheets. U+ Response: Revised drawings and included the stamp and signature of Urbanadd's Project Architect. Correction #2: Will there be a customer counter for retail sales? If so, please show on the plans, and indicate the height of the counter to comply with accessibility requirements. IBC 1109.12.3 and ICC A117.1 section 904. U+ Response: There will be no retail sales counter provided. All transactions will be completed via mobile tablet by Scratch staff. Correction #3: Reference Door 101C and Window W1 on sheet A2.0 and A5.0. As per IBC 707.6 #3, openings in the fire barrier wall are limited to 25% of the length of the wall unless tested to the standards of ASTM E119 or UL263 and carry afire resistive rating equal to that of the wall (1hour). Please change the window rating from 45 to 60 minutes, and note the proper standard in the schedule; or revise the design to conform to the maximum 25% opening length. U+ Response: Window and Door schedule on Sheet A5.0 revised to note Door 101C and Window W1 with a 60 Minute Fire Rating. Correction 4: Provide a design for the seismic anchorage of all equipment weighing greater than 400 pounds. The design must be by a Washington state licensed engineer. This may be a deferred submittal; in which case indicate so on the plans. U+ Response: Equipment anchorage calculations included with revised submittal. LrV Additional Design Changes from the 9/11/2014 submission: 1. Deletion of skylight at Room 101. 2. Rearrangement of rooms 104,105 & 106. 3. Revision of trench drain locations and sloped -floor per at Room 101 (By Landlord) 4. Addition of roll -down grill/door 101B and partial -height glazed area -separation per Federal Alcohol and Tabaco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB) regulations. 5.
