During review of the plans for the above noted project, it was found that the following information,
clarifications or changes are needed. Please provide written responses as to where the changes can be
found on the plans, and submit revised plans/documents to a permit coordinator in the Development
Services Department. Thank you.
1.Please calculate the new occupant load for the combined space, using the following
factors based on use of each area:
a.Kitchen/prep: 200 sf per person
b.Office: 100 sf per person
c.Dining (tables and chairs): 15 sf per person IBC 1004
2.Indicate on the plans the proposed occupancy as group A2. IBC 303.3
3.Note on the plans to post the occupant load. IBC 1004.3
4.Due to the increased occupant load the combined space requires two exits, these being
separated by a minimum of 1/3 the overall diagonal distance of the space. It appears the 2
north exits do not meet this minimum separation distance, therefore the existing southwest
exit door is considered as required. Please show the southwest exit door on the plans.

5.Provide exit signs at each exit door (3 total). IBC 1011.1
6.Show emergency lighting in the combined space. IBC 1006
7.If a deadbolt is to be used on the main entry door, post a sign This door to remain
unlocked when building is occupied. IBC 1009.1.9.3
8.The floor plan references Detail A. Please label Detail A.
9.Verify the existing roof beam above the wall being removed and make a note of it on the
plans.
10.Please provide the plan review letter from Snohomish Health District.
