During a review of the plans by the Building Division for the above noted project, it was found that
the following information, clarifications, or changes are needed. A complete review cannot be
performed until the revised plans/documents, including a written response indicating where the
clouded or otherwise highlighted changes can be found on the revised plans, have been submitted
to a Permit Coordinator. Reviews by other divisions, such as Planning, Engineering, or Fire, may
result in additional comments.
On sheet A1:
1.Partial Site Plan
a.Indicate on the plans the required width of 132 inches for the van-accessible parking
space per International Code Council (ICC) A117.1-2009 section 502.2. A parking
space width of 96 inches is allowed where the adjacent access aisle is a minimum of
96 inches wide.
b.Indicate on the plans the required handrails on each side of ramp runs with a rise
greater than 6 inches per ICC A117.1-2009 section 405.8. The handrails must
comply with ICC A117.1-2009 section 505.
c.Indicate on the plans the required edge protection on each side of ramp runs per ICC
A117.1-2009 section 405.9.
On sheet A2:
2.Detail 1 Section @ Accessible Parking and Detail 2 Concrete Curb Clarify the
representation of the top of the concrete curb flush with the level of the new asphalt
paving. The leader line for exist. asphalt to remain on Detail 1 appears to indicate that,
when completed, there will be two different levels of asphalt paving.
3.Detail 3 Wood Framed Deck & Ramp and Detail 4 Ramp Detail Indicate on the
plans the required handrails on each side of ramp runs with a rise greater than 6 inches per
ICC A117.1-2009 section 405.8. The handrails must comply with ICC A117.1-2009 section
505.
4.Detail 5 Accessible Parking Sign Indicate on the plans the designation van accessible
for the sign identifying the accessible parking space per ICC A117.1-2009 section 502.7.
