6. Detail I — Foundation Plan — Provide on the plans the required dimensions of the isolated footings to
support the loads below each end of the 5-1/8 x 15 GLB over the south portion of space '102' —
Open Office — to guide proper review, construction , and inspection.
7. Detail 2 — Second Floor Framing Plan — Clarify the callout for the 'existing 2x12 @ 16" OC' floor joists
over the west portion used to support the loads from above. They appear to be close to their design
limits using only the uniform dead and live loads of the floor. The loads from any interior walls or
roof loads appear to potentially result in bending failure depending on the placement of those loads.
The existing joists on the West side of the building will remain unchanged from the
existing condition to the proposed condition, Based on Our Calculation of the existing
condition though, the joists were determined to be adequate to support the floor dead
load and live load per the attached calculations. Note that the existing 2 x 12 joists were
assumed to be DF #:I based on our field observations and the age of the building.
Addbiuna|k,the, capamitymfthe simteredjoists has been determined tmbeadequate to
support the floor dead load and live load inaddition tothe load fromnthe bearing wall
above. See the attached calculations and K)etmi|4 onSheet S4.2,
