"I'lle following is an assessment of four DougiRs fir frees ir� the cornmoii area ad.jaccrit to the rtiori-
HOA property 24127 100"' St SW. "I'liese trees are along the south side oftheir driveway and
11OUse. All four trCCS were determined to be healthy, with the following relatively ininor detects:
Tree 4 1 : Douglas fit-, 28" DSH, west.-n-tost tree, closest to street. Very vigorous growth
and dark green color indicates good health. It is very likely that this tree was "topped" at
approx. 40", based oil the crook ill the trunk, on this tree and all other Douglas firs of
s-infilar size in tire vicinity. There appears to be a ver6cal crack in this, area that is of
some concern to the integrity of the stem.
a Recommendation: Crown clean & crown thin. the canopy by 20% to decrease
canopy weight. Remove one large limb growing over the driveway near the area
of the vertical crack. Core test the stein near the vertical, crack to determine
presence and extent of decay,
Tree 92: DOUglas Hr, 34" DSH, second in row. San -le general health characteristics and
similar crook in the steril at approx. 40'.
a Recommendation: Crown clean & crown thin the canopy by 20%; selectively
remove several long limbs overhanging the driveway, specifically tile two
longest limbs near the 40' ulark.
Tree 93 : Douglas fir, I I" DSH, third in row. This tree is SUppressed but 1'(,-IatiVCIY
healthy, and the terminal growth (top) is not vertical. The main stern is off center from
the toot collar arid there are two previously cut: stubs near the root collar, indicating that
the tree was cut low or deformed at an early age.
o Recommendation: Core test base of tree to determine presence and extent of
decay.
Tree � 4: Douglas fir, 18" DSH, east -most tree in row. Vigorous with dark green foliage.
The canopy is relatively narrow,with evenly dispersed scaffold limbs. Minor bark
buckling at root Coital', with possible decay,
o Recommenclatiow Core test at base of tree to deterruille presence and extent of
decay.
