2015-0821 Pizza Hut type I hood - Alpine Fire and Safety.pdf City of Edmonds PLAN REVIEW COMMENTS BUILDING DIVISION (425) 771-0220 DATE: July 16, 2015 TO: Alpine Fire & Safety Nisha Taylor store1@alpinefire.com FROM: Chuck Miller, Plans Examiner RE: Plan Check: BLD2015-0821 Project: Pizza Hut Type I Hood Project Address: 23830 Highway 99, #118 During a review of the plans by the Building Division for the above noted project, it was found that the following information, clarifications, or changes are needed. A complete review cannot be performed until the revised plans/documents, including a written response indicating where the ‘clouded’ or otherwise highlighted changes can be found on the revised plans, have been submitted to a Permit Coordinator. Reviews by other divisions, such as Planning, Engineering, or Fire, may result in additional comments. General Review Note: 1.Work related to the required fire suppression system to be installed for the Type I hood is to be done under a separate permit. On sheet M1.0 – Vicinity Plan/Rooftop Equipment: 2.Rooftop Equipment – Provide on the plans information regarding the ‘existing makeup air unit’ (CFM) and the exhaust capacity of the other equipment served by the ‘makeup air unit’. On sheet M1.1 – Side Elevation/Front Elevation: 3.Exhaust Fan/Hood Information – Clarify the exhaust capacity of the proposed exhaust fan/hood. It does not appear to meet the requirements of International Mechanical Code (IMC) 507.13.3 or that calculated using the City of Edmonds ‘Commercial Kitchen Hood Worksheet’ – see attached. 4.Side Elevation – Indicate on the plans the required smooth, cleanable, nonabsorbent and noncombustible material installed between the hood and the gypsum wallboard over an area extending not less than 18 inches in all directions from the hood per IMC 507.9. An 18 inch clearance to combustibles is also required from the other portions of the hood.
