2015-0919 Miah's Food Central Kitchen type I hood - Great Sun Corp.pdf City of Edmonds PLAN REVIEW COMMENTS BUILDING DIVISION (425) 771-0220 DATE: August 28, 2015 TO: Great Sun Corporation Keith Ta kta@greatsuncorp.com FROM: Chuck Miller, Plans Examiner RE: Plan Check: BLD2015-0919 Project: Miah’s Food Central Kitchen Type I Hood Project Address: 22315 Highway 99, Suite H During a review of the plans by the Building Division for the above noted project, it was found that the following information, clarifications, or changes are needed. A complete review cannot be performed until the revised plans/documents, including a written response indicating where the ‘clouded’ or otherwise highlighted changes can be found on the revised plans, have been submitted to a Permit Coordinator. Reviews by other divisions, such as Planning, Engineering, or Fire, may result in additional comments. On sheet K-1: 1.Notes – Scope of Work – Clarify on the plans the difference in the stated length of the Type I hood to be installed and of that indicated on the elevation ‘Front View’. The proposed work should be consistently represented in the submitted construction documents to guide proper review and inspection. 2.Vicinity Plan/Rooftop Equipment - Provide on the plans information regarding the proposed required equipment access per International Mechanical Code (IMC) 306.5. Details should include the access hatch and its location, the distance above grade to access the equipment, and the equipment access ladder (or other means to be used) and its location. 3.Section Elevation View – Indicate on the plans the required installation of the field-applied grease duct enclosure (duct wrap) from the point at which the duct originates upwards toward the duct termination per IMC 506.3.11.2 and the product manufacturer. 4.Fan Equipment Schedule – Clarify the exhaust capacity of the proposed exhaust fan/hood. It does not appear to meet the requirements of IMC 507.13.2 or that calculated using the City of Edmonds ‘Commercial Kitchen Hood Worksheet’ – see attached. The hood is required to have a label indicating the minimum exhaust flow rate in CFM per linear foot of hood based on the defined cooking appliance duty classification per IMC 507.2.1.2.
