SUNROOM/MULTIPLE DWELLING VIOLATION AT 7909 238TH STREET SW
Dear Ms. Gonzalez,
You have applied for a building permit with a scope of work that indicates additional exterior
vents are to be added to a sunroom at the above address. While that and other elements may
need to be permitted here, the main concern with this property is that the building was being
used as a multiple dwelling. This was verified in a code enforcement action from earlier this
year (COD20150021). The subject parcel is zoned Single Family Residential (RS -8) where
multiple dwelling units are prohibited.
In order to convert the house back into a single family dwelling unit, please submit the
following information:
1. Updated building plans which show one complete floor on each plan sheet
(upper/lower). The updated building plans should identify all unpermitted work,
including the sun room, and should be complete with framing plans.
2. Identify the means of internal connection between the basement unit behind the
garage and the rest of the house. If such connection does not exist, the space must be
converted to storage or similar by removing the kitchen facilities and making it into
unheated space.
Please submit two copies of the updated building plans by September 14, 2015. Please
make all submittals to a Permit Coordinator, Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm
(we are closed Wednesdays for permit intake). If you have any questions, please contact us
