A complete review cannot be performed until the revised plans/documents, including a written response indicating where the ‘clouded’ changes can be found on the plans, have been submitted to a Permit Coordinator. Reviews by other divisions, such as Planning, Engineering, or Fire, may result in additional comments. General Note: 1.Indicate on the plans the plumbing and mechanical systems to be installed to support the operation of the hot tub and the details of their installation. Of specific concern are a connection to the sanitary system for drainage per ECDC 18.10.050/ Uniform Plumbing Code (UPC) chapter 7, installation of a heater and gas piping to provide fuel per International Fuel Gas Code (IFGC) chapters 3 & 4. Include details regarding piping materials, sizing, placement (underground or surface), protection, etc. 2.Indicate on the plans the requirement for controls to shut off the heater without adjusting the thermostat and a timer to automatically turn off and on heaters and pumps on a preset schedule or a built-in timer to do the same per Washington State Energy Code (WSEC) R403.9.2. Gas-fired heaters shall not be equipped with constant burning pilot lights per WSEC R403.9.1. 3.Indicate on the plans the means to be used to meet the barrier requirements of section AG105 in Appendix G of the International Residential Code (IRC). A cover, required for heated spas per WSEC R403.9.3 that also complies with ASTM F 1346 may also be used to meet the requirement.
