Project: Sunrise Senior Living

Project Address: 21500 72 Ave W
During review of the plans for the above noted project, it was found that the following information,
clarifications or changes are needed. Please provide written responses as to where the changes can be found
on the plans, and submit revised plans/documents to a permit coordinator in the Development Services
Department. Thank you.
1.Reference sheet G0.01. Please list the appropriate occupancy groups using IBC chapter 3
designations. It appears the building will fall under the current IBC occupancy group of I-1; however,
since this is a state licensed facility, coordination with the Department of Health will be necessary in
order to clarify the actual occupancy group.
2.Reference sheet A2.01. In the event that the Won door at room 113 closes, an exit access door
meeting IBC 1008 will need to be available for egress from the room. IBC 1001.
3.Reference sheet A2.02. In the event that the Won door at room 230 closes, an exit access door
meeting IBC 1008 will need to be available for egress from the room. IBC 1001.
4.Reference sheet A2.02. Detail callout 1/A8.06X occurs on this page, however sheet A8.06X is not
included in the plan set.
5.Reference sheet A2.02. In the event that the Won door at room 333 closes, 2 exit access doors
meeting IBC 1008 will need to be available for egress from the room. IBC 1001.
6.Please provide specifications for the proposed fire rated Won doors. This should include the ICC ES
report for the product.
7.The alterations require accessibility upgrades for the building per WAC 51.50 (IBC 3411.7). On the
plans, either a) clearly show that the entire interior accessible route of travel complies with current
code, or b) provide upgrades per the previously referenced section. If you choose to use exception #1
of that section, provide a letter stamped and signed by the architect (reference the code exception),
stating the overall project cost, 20% of the project cost, and list the accessibility upgrades that will be
done as part of this permit as well as showing that the total cost of the upgrades is at least 20%.
8.Provide seismic anchorage design calculations and details stamped and signed by a licensed engineer
for the 3 new RTUÂ’s weighing more than 400 pounds.
9.Special inspections have been identified for this project. Please obtain signatures and submit the
attached special inspection agreement form prior to issuance of the permit.
10.Provide a copy of the DOH review letter prior to issuance of the permit.
