Thank you for your comments. Please see revision notes following below your notes:
During a review of the plans by the Building Division for the above noted project, it was found that
the following information, clarifications, or changes are needed.
1. The application indicates that 2 water closets are to be installed, but only one new water
closet could be found on the plans. Please clarify.
Clhermalk: Adjusted application: No new water closet, only bath next to (kitchen to Ibe added.
2. Similarly, the sink count could not be reconciled with 4 on the application but only 3 found
on the plans.
Clherrnak: Changed applllication to match. Also added, Rxture Il ew and Existing, note to A-6
3. Identify on the plans how the requirements regarding whole -house ventilation will be
satisfied per IRC M1507.3.
Chermak: Added Whole III°°(louse Ventilation note and schedulle to A-6
4. The application indicates the presence of a gas furnace in the basement, and a heat pump at
the NW exterior of the home. Are these new pieces of equipment? If so, is the path of
compliance to the Washington State Energy Code (WSEC) section R406? In any case,
please indicate on the plans how the requirements of Section R406 will be satisfied. Specify
which option(s) from Table R406.2 will be utilized to achieve the required credits.

permitted at later date by hvac professionals.
5. Please show the smoke detectors throughout the house as required per IRC R315, i.e. within
each sleeping room and outside of and in the vicinity of the sleeping room area(s). Note all
of the smoke detectors within the residence must be hard -wired and interconnected.

6. In the same area, there is a note indicating the existing 2x8 deck is to be used for the kitchen
floor. However, detail 9/S5.1 shows that the floor joists are to be replaced and W plywood
decking is indicated. Please revise.

7. Detail 2/A-4 appears to have the proper information for insulating the slab per WSEC Table
R402.1.1. Please reference the detail with a detail bug in an appropriate location indicating
a 'typical' condition to help guide proper inspection.

Bedroom is to meet the emergency escape and rescue requirements of IRC R310.1.

10. Per WSEC Table R402.1.1, insulation is required to have an R-49 rating in ceilings (R-38 if
vaulted), and R-30 within floor assemblies. Please verify these requirements are labeled
