REMOVE AND REPLACE SIGNAGE AT 1011 PUGET DR.
Dear Mr. Thomson:
I have reviewed the above building permit application for the Planning Division, and it was found that the
following information, corrections, or clarifications need to be addressed before review can continue:
1. Height:
❑ Canopy signs cannot extend above the height of the structure on which the sign is
located. Please reduce the height and size of the accordingly.
20.60.030 Wall signs — Maximum area and height.
B. The maximum height of any attached sign shall be as follows:

BN, BP, BC, BD, CW, CG, IYIMU, 14 feet or the height of the face of the building on which the
FVMU sign is located, consistent with ECDC &6Q020(B)
2. Illumination:
❑ Only the symbols or letters may be illuminated. Other portions of the canopy sign may
not be illuminated.
20.60.020 General regulations forpermanent signs.
N. The following standards clarify how some signs identified as "conditionally permitted" must be installed to be
permitted in the city of Edmonds.
2. Internally illuminated signs in the downtown area and neighborhood commercial areas may only light the letters
or logos/ ymbols. The background of a sign face may not be illuminated.
3. Additional R uirement;s:
❑ Lighting in the canopy shall be reduced to a level which will still illuminate the sign, but
not cause glare or be obtrusive to nearby residences.

❑ Canopy lighting is subject to the installation of a timer to operate the canopy lights.

revised building plan sheets to a Development Services Permit Coordinator. Our office hours are Mondays,
