Subject: Plan review Madrona school
Ms. Rosen,
I am part of the review team looking at the plans for the new Madrona K-8 school in Edmonds. I specifically review the
trash collection area and am requesting a few clarifications at this time.
I recognize the service yard area located in the northeast corner of the building footprint, and the gated entry, etc. I can
also pick out what appears to be 2 front -load type collection containers at the south end of this yard.
However, I could not find any details on this area or an elevation to review. For one, I would like to know what the
heavy -lined area is, that is placed between and behind the containers. I am assuming a possible elevated platform?
will need this see this whole area in detail which would include dimensions.
Also there appears to be the possibility for waste collection trucks to turn around inside the service yard but that looks
tight. Is it the intent for trucks to back all the way out of the service yard to the outside fire lane turnaround, which is
quite a distance? The waste haulers and the city look for minimizing or eliminating the backing of these large trucks.
Please let me know if I missed any details possibly (large building plan set....) or respond with some clarification. Thank
you.
