Hi Tanner,
Thanks for sending this. I sent it to the Operations Manager at Republic Services and he had the following comments:
The 100+ foot back up is fine as well as the turnaround lane — not a problem.
There is concern about the extent of the covered play area shown, so perhaps a need to clarify where exactly it occurs
down along that fire turnaround lane — will the trucks need to be looking out for any overhead structure while turning
around? (not sure what the heavy dashed line on north side of turnaround lane means). The heavy dashed to the north
of the orange fire lane is the fire lane location from a previous design scheme —that dashed line does not indicate an
overhead structure of any kind. The dashed box at the termination of the orange fire lane indicates the proposed
covered play area to the north of the gym. That location is not set at this moment and may change. We will keep in mind
to keep covered play or any other structures out of the way of the service vehicles.
He noted there was no space for a loading dock shown in the service area — is that by design? At this time we are not
planning for a loading dock as it was not requested by food service. However, further confirmation on the layout of the
service yard will be verified with the district.

Hi, Steve.
I was pointed in your direction for guidance on container sizes for a new K-8 school that Mahlum is
designing for the Madrona School. We're very early in the design process but I thought it'd be a good time
to correctly size our service yard. Currently I have sized our containers based on Lynnwood Elementary
that we recently permitted with the City of Lynwood. Any assistance you could provide would be greatly
appreciated.
Thanks - have a great weekend.
