Please be advised that the building plans for the above referenced project have been disapproved
for the purposes of obtaining a building permit. During a review of the plans by the Building
Division for compliance with the applicable building codes, it was found that the following
information, clarifications, or changes are needed. Reviews by other divisions, such as Planning,
Engineering, or Fire, may result in additional comments that require attention beyond the scope of
this letter. Items that recur on this list appear in italics.
A complete review cannot be performed until the revised plans/documents, including a
written response in itemized letter format indicatin where the 'clouded' or otherwise
hil!hlil!hted changes can be found on the revised plans, have been submitted to a Permit
Coordinator.
Resubmittals must be made at the Development Services Department on the 2 d Floor of City Hall.
Permit Center hours are M, T, Th, & F from 8am-4:30pm and from 8:30am-12pm on Wednesdays.
This building plan review cannot be completed until we receive the following items:

Energy Notes:
a. Item 2 references a climate zone of "I". Snohomish County is referenced as 4C. Please
change on the plans.
b. Item 6, details whole house ventilation per section M1508.4 of the IRC. Whole house
ventilation requirements are specified in section M1507.3 of the 2015 IRC. With a
ventilation rate of 50CFM for a total of 8 hours a day, your ventilation requirements are
not being met for a home of this size. Please change on the plans to comply with table
1507.3.3(l) or 1507.3.3(2)
c. Item 9 specifies using energy credit 5b. Credit 5b only allows for I credit. A home of this
size requires a minimum of 3.5 credits. Please indicate on the plans the additional credits
per table 406.2 of the Washington State Energy code that will be used. If high efficiency
heating and cooling appliances are opted, please indicate on the plans their location and
ratings.
