Eric,
Thank you for your letter. I wanted to correspond with you before I sent any additional information.
With regards to the three items you questioned.
1. The plans prepared by Temo do indicate they are prepared in accordance with the 2015 IRC. I chose to
include the evaluation report in case you
wanted third party verification of the wind calculations. I know that it does not say it is prepared in accordance
with the 2015 IRC but I was just using it for calulations.
2.1 also noted that the S3 fig is mentioned but not included in any one of the 6 of 6 pages. I believe that could
be because wind loading takes precedent over
seismic loading in light weight structures. I am sure you know more about that than I do. I can have the
engineer speak to this if you would like.
3. The configuration of the room has our stressed skin roof panels running perpendicular to the house. The load
is therefore on the house and on the front wall. the sidewalls are not
load bearing points. That is why the engineer is not calling for additional structural reinforcement under the side
walls.
Please let me know if this will response suffice in answering your questions or if I need to have the engineer
respond to the items.
