The following correction is in response to the correction letter sent by Mitch Boyd, Plans
Examiner, on 07/14/2017.
Revision 1
In addition to the correction, change is made to the interior floor layout on main floor,
resulting no additional increase of square footages. Upper floor framing plan,
foundation plan, and braced wall plans are revised accordingly. Sheet S1.3 is removed.
General
1. It appears that some or all of the plans submitted have not been stamped by a
Washington State licensed Architect or Engineer. Per RCW196-23-020 all designs must
be stamped by the designing party. Please have the plans stamped by the applicable
party..
Correction Response:
Prescriptive braced wall design with standard details in accordance to IRC is provided as per
your meeting with the house owner on 07/26/17. Braced wall standard details are provided in
the plans.
2. It does not appear that calculations for beam "134"or "133" were included in the
engineering packet. Please include calculations for beams "134"and "133".. RESUB

Correction Response:
Revised beam size and beam marks are now shown on the plan. Also calculations for beams
133-138 are now included in the engineering package.

3. Support at the exterior wall for beams '%4" does not appear to have been addressed.
Please indicate on the plans the intended post and sizing, as well as how this will be
supported through to the foundation. With the anticipated "dead, live, and snow" loads
an increase in footing size may be necessary. Furthermore the specified 6x8 "B4" is
overstressed for the anticipated loads. Please clarify and address.
Correction Response:
The post and header which support beam B4 have been checked and their sizes are shown on
the plan. The upper floor framing has been revised, beam "134" is mainly to support the roof
load (D+S) from above. Calculations have been provided to verify the over hang beams B4 and
their supports are structurally adequate.
4. The beam located adjacent to the front entry has not been identified for size. Please
note on the plans the size and how the beam will be attached to post "P5" in combination
with the "B5" beams.
Correction Response:
The beam is sized and assigned as "137", please see updated calculation. Also a new detail of
the beam connection is provided, please see detail 7/S1.4.
