Project Address: 711 Main Street
Scope: Installation of portable residential spa and concrete pad
Please be advised that the building plans for the above referenced project have been disapproved
for the purposes of obtaining a building permit. During a review of the plans by the Building
Division for compliance with the applicable building codes, it was found that the following
information, clarifications, or changes are needed. Reviews by other divisions, such as Planning,
Engineering, or Fire, may result in additional comments that require attention beyond the scope of
this letter. Items that recur on this list appear in italics.
A complete review cannot be performed until the revised plans/documents, including a
written response in itemized letter format indicatinz where the 'clouded' or otherwise
highlij!hted chani!es can be found on the revised plans, have been submitted to a Permit
Coordinator.
Resubmittals must be made at the Development Services Department on the 2 nd Floor of City Hall.
Permit Center hours are M, T, Th, & F from 8am-4:30pm and from 8:30am-12pm on Wednesdays.
General:
A barrier is required. Please indicate on the plans the means to meet the barrier
requirements of the International Swimming Pool and Spa Code section 305. This can be
met in two different ways.
a. Provide a lockable cover that complies with ASTM F 1346.
b. Provide a barrier that is no less than 48" in height and complies ISPSC 305.2.1
2. Please provide documentation that this spa complies with either UL1563 or CSA C22.2
No. 218. 1. Either of these ratings are minimum requirements of the spa.
3. The proposed spas must meet the energy consumption requirements of ISPSC 303.2.
Please provide documentation stating that the proposed spa is APSP 14 compliant.
