Scope: Master Bedroom Addition / Basement Conversion
Please be advised that the building plans for the above referenced project have been disapproved
for the purposes of obtaining a building permit. During a review of the plans by the Building
Division for compliance with the applicable building codes, it was found that the following
information, clarifications, or changes are needed. Reviews by other divisions, such as Planning,
Engineering, or Fire, may result in additional comments that require attention beyond the scope of
this letter. Items that recur on this list appear in italics.
A complete review cannot be performed until the revised plans/documents, including a
written response in itemized letter format indicating where the 'clouded' or otherwise
hi2hli2hted chan2es can be found on the revised plans, have been submitted to a Permit
Coordinator.
Resubmittals must be made at the Development Services Department on the 2 nd Floor of City Hall.
Permit Center hours are M, T, Th, & F from 8am-4:30pm and from 8:30am-12pm on Wednesdays.
A1.2:
New Basement Floor Plan;
1. Local exhaust fans are required at the proposed basement bath and laundry rooms.
Please add a minimum of 50 CFM local exhaust fan in each location on the plans.
2. Carbon monoxide detectors are required. Please indicate a minimum of one detector on
each level of the home on the plans.
New Main Floor Plan;
3. Where alterations or additions requiring a permit, smoke alarms and carbon monoxide
detectors are to be installed as required in new construction. Please identify the locations
of the existing or proposed devices.
AI.3:
4. Please identify the location of the CO detector required for the top floor on the plans.
5. The window located at the master soaker tub is required to "safety glazed". Please
indicate on the plans.
6. A minimum of a 50 CFM local exhaust fan is required for the master bath. Please
indicate on the plans.
7. Detail A3.1 is indicated at the master bath, page A3.1 was not included with the
submittal. Please include with the resubmittal.
8. The size and operational style of the proposed master bedroom windows are not
indicated on the plans. Please provide the information on the plans and also include if
the windows are to be used as "Emergency Egress".
