Please be advised that the building plans for the above referenced project have been disapproved
for the purposes of obtaining a building permit. During a review of the plans by the Building
Division for compliance with the applicable building codes, it was found that the following
information, clarifications, or changes are needed. Reviews by other divisions, such as Planning,
Engineering, or Fire, may result in additional comments that require attention beyond the scope of
this letter.
A complete review cannot be performed until the revised plans/documents, including a
written response in itemized letter format indicating where the 'clouded' or otherwise
hi2hli2hted chanus can be found on the revised plans, have been submitted to a Permit
Coordinator.
Resubmittals must be made at the Development Services Department on the 2 d Floor of City Hall.
Permit Center hours are M, T, Th, & F from 8am-4:30pm and from 8:30am-12pm on Wednesdays.
General Note:
Indicate on the plans the requirement for controls to shut off the heater without adjusting the
thermostat and a timer to automatically turn off and on heaters and pumps on a preset
schedule or a built-in timer to do the same per ISPSC 303. 1.1 and Washington State Energy
Code (WSEC) R403.10.2. The electrical diagram does appear to indicate some of the
requirements but the plans does not specifically state how the requirements will be achieved.
2. Indicate on the plans the requirement for the vapor retardant cover as required by
ISPC303.1.3 and (WSEC) 403.10.3.
Indicate on the plans the means to be used to meet the barrier requirements of ISPSC 3 05. 1.
A cover, required for outdoor heated pools per ISPSC 303.1.3/WSEC R403.9.3 may also be
used to meet the requirement if it is also provided for the spa, is lockable, and complies with
ASTM F 1346. If you are intending to use existing elements, please provide details of the
barrier and its construction.
Please let me know if I can be of any additional assistance.
