Avenue North Edmonds, Washington 98020 RE: Plan review comments for BLD2018-0140 Dear Mr. Miller, Below are my responses to your plan review comments for the Westgate Chapel Remodel project, dated March 8, 2018. I appreciate your thorough review and have addressed the issues you raised, and made a few other minor corrections. My comments below are numbered according to your original letter, Sheet A'1.02 1. (a) and (b). New sheet A1.04 is added showing the entire main floor of the church and the means of egress from and access to the new chapel space. See also the site plan on sheet A1.01 for access to/from the existing accessible parking along the east side of the building. 1. (c), The new doors in the east wall of the chapel have been relocated and the swing is changed. 1. (d). The new landing is relocated with the new doors referenced above and revised to include handrails, The existing stairs in the sanctuary are unchanged, 1. (e). The new doors at the north wall of the chapel are enlarged to provide adequate clearance. 1. (f). The door swing at the weslmost changing room is unchanged since the space is not accessible. Those requiring accessible access to a changing space will use one of the existing accessible restroom (shown on sheet A1,04), 1. (g). New sheet A1.04 shows the distance to the existing accessible restrooms and drinking fountains. 2. (a), (b), and (c). Building Section A-A is revised to show the structural connections, as determined by SideSway Engineering (see also separate engineering calculations). 3. He was able to secure the original TJI shop drawings for the floor joists (included in his calãuhtion packet) and calculated the maximum allowable occupancy based on the maximum design load for the floor joists under the chapel. lt is slightly reduced from the IBC prescriptive maximum. Sheet 41.03 4. The reflected ceiling plan has been revised to show a new lighting fixture layout, referencing a lighting fixture schedule. 5. A lighting fixture schedule is added, referencing new fixture locations on the reflected ceiling plan, and indicating tñe fixtures required to provide emergency power for the means of egress. See also attached cut sheets for the fixtures listed on the schedule. The electrical subcontractor will be securing the electrical permit and will be responsible for providing any additional documentation required to demonstrate compliance with applicable provisions of the lBC, NEC, and WSEC. WSEC Forms 6. (a) and (b).
