Dear Mr. Miller,
Thank you for taking the time yesterday to discuss the comments for the Healthcare Realty spec
suite... .it was greatly appreciated! Please find our responses and revised sheets to address
your comments.
On sheet 40.41 - I.egends - Partitions, Doors & Door Schedule:
5. Partition-Type: Vertical Configuration Legend - Type 'a'- Fire-Rated Partitron
b. Provide on the plans information regarding the required attacltment at the top of
the partítion to the deck above. Include the specifiedfasteners and their spacing.
The response to the earlier plan review comment states: "See added details on
attached 40.41". The additional details - Detail 8 - Fire Rated at Head
Condition - and - Designs for Fire-Rated Heads-of-V/all - reference sheet
'A0.43', UL Design HW-D0264,UL Design HW-D-0218, UL Design HV/-D-
0049, and UL Design HW-D-
0042 for further information and construction criteria. Sheet 'A0.43' and the
referenced UL Designs could not be found among the resubmitted construction
documents. Provide on the plans the required construction criteria of the listed
f,rre-resistance rated head-of-wall assemblies. The information must include the
specified components of the fire-resistance rated assembly (type and thickness of
the 'forming material' - fill, void, or cavity material) and their installation criteria
(compression percentage or physical attachment- application) to guide proper
construction and inspection.
See attached NEW sheet 40.43

suclt as occupant sensor and tíme switch, meeting WSEC C405.2) per WSEC

.RCP' plan indicating the location of occupancy sensors that could not be found.
Most of the areas do not appear to be subject to the 'daylight responsive control'
requirements of V/SEC C405.2.4 due to the lack of windows or number of
fixtures in the daylight zones. Typically, occupancy sensors are installed per
WSEC C405.2.1. Most of the specified areas do not appear to be exempt from the
'occupancy sensor control' requirements of WSEC C405.2.I. The noted
exception, WSEC C405.2.2,Item2, applies to those areas not otherwise provided
with occupancy sensor controls. Unlike occupancy sensor controls, which would
sense the presence of a medical providerþatient and allow the space to remain
illuminated at desired/required levels, time switch (and daylight responsive
(redtrction)) controls would turn off or reduce the lighting level as programmed
(without regard to the use/need), justifying the exception of those controls. Time
switch control(s) with a manual override should be provided for the lighting
serving the following spaces:. 301 - Waiting. 302 - Reception. 3ll -Corridor
