RE: Titen HD@ Goncrete Screw Anchor as 1:1 Replacement for Cast-in-Place Anchor Bolts
The Simpson Strong-Tie@ Titen HD@ concrete screw anchor (THD) may be used as a direct 1:1
replacementfor 112 and 5/8 in. diameter cast-in-place (ClP) anchor bolts used to anchor wood
mudsills in prescriptive (braced wall) or engineered (shear wall) applications. The THD meets the
capacity of CIP bolts with h"r of 7 in. for in-plane and out-of-plane shear loading and is code-listed
per ICC-ES ESR-2713 in compliance with current IBC/lRC requirements.
Square bearing plates and an additional cut washer may be required; verify with local Code
requirements. The Simpson Strong-Tie@ BPS slotted bearing plate does not require an additional
cut washer. Treated wood applications may require the use of mechanically galvanized (MG)
anchors; consult local Code requirements. Refer to our website at www.stronqtie.com for
im portant information about corrosion.
The information in this letter is valid until 6/30/2018 when it will be re-evaluated by Simpson Strong-Tie.
