The following are Jackson I Main Architecture (JMA) responses to the correction letter, dated July L7,
2018. Responses are numbered to correspond with the order in which the questions were received for
the project referenced above:
1. Under current City of Edmonds Municipal Code spaces over 5,000 sq ft will have an automatic
sprinkler system installed. 19.25.035 Fire protection systems. Deferred submittal
Response: On Sheet A0.0 under Separate Submittals, the following have been added: Fire Protection;
Fire Sprinkler and Fire Alarm.
2. Under current City of Edmonds Municipal Code spaces with a sprinkler system will have a Fire Alarm
installed. Deferred submittal
Response: On Sheet 40.0 under Separate Submittals, the following have been added: Fire Protection;
Fire Sprinkler and Fire Alarm.
3. FDC connection to be determined and sized to support entire building. Needs to be within 50 feet of a
fire hydrant.
Response: On Sheet 2.0 - Floor plan- a note has been added to the sheet that states: FDC connection
to be determined and sized to support entire building. FDC needs to be within 50 feet of fire hydrant.
Contractor to verify placement in field with building owner.
**Fire subcontractor has been notified and will have this sized and noted on the separate fire
protection drawings.
4. Show evidence of fire wall separation between tenant space and spaces on both sides.
Response: On Sheet 40.0 - Code Compliance Plan Symbol Legends, a dashed line indicating fire wall
separation has been updated and placed on the Code Compliance Plan for better legibility. Also on
Sheet 41.0 Mark 23 has been added and states: Existing fire wall to be verified in field; see note 8 this
sheet.

5. Lighted exit signs
Response: On Sheet 40.0- Code Compliance Plan Symbol Legend - lighted exit sign {emergency
lighting has been added to the legend and placed on the Code Compliance Plan by each exit.
6. Emergency lighting
Response: On Sheet A0.0- Code Compliance Plan Symbol Legend - lighted exit sign w/emergency
lighting has been added to the legend and placed on the Code Compliance Plan by each exit.
7 . tire extinguishers
Response: On Sheet 40.0 - Code Compliance Plan Symbol Legend - fire extinguisher has been added
to the legend and were already placed on the Code Compliance Plan in various locations. They are
also called out on the Floorplan on Sheet A2.0 with 'Mark 5'that states: Wall Mounted Fire
Extinguisher - Verify Final Location with Local Fire Marshal.
