As requested by the contractor, ESNW rep. was onsite to observe and test8" sewer installation, as well as collect soil
samples of Proctor #1
8" Sewer Installation
While onsite, ESNW rep. observed the contractor installing 8" sewer main within a —6' utility trench within the roadway.
ESNW rep. observed the contractor bed the pipe with pea gravel, and backfill using 12" lifts of imported 5/8" minus crush
rock. ESNW rep. observed the contractor use a small jumping plate wacker to compact the material down to a dense,
stable state. Compaction tests taken indicate that an adequate compaction of at least 95% was achieved at the testing
locations.
While onsite, ESNW rep. collected samples of the imported 5/8" minus crush rock, and transported the samples back to
ESNW soils lab for further testing.
