Scope: Remodel Remove two kitchen walls, add posts & beam, remodel 2
bathrooms, furr our basement wall for insulation and drywall, VB construction,
Plumbing and Mechanical included.
Please be advised that the building plans for the above referenced project have been disapproved
for the purposes of obtaining a building permit. During a review of the plans by the Building
Division for compliance with the applicable building codes, it was found that the following
information, clarifications, or changes are needed. Reviews by other divisions, such as Planning,
Engineering, or Fire, may result in additional comments that require attention beyond the scope of
this letter. Items that recur on this list appear in italics
A complete review cannot be performed until the revised plans/documents, including a
written response in itemized letter format indicating where the ‘clouded’ or otherwise
highlighted changes can be found on the revised plans, have been submitted to a Permit
Coordinator.
Resubmittals must be made at the Development Services Department on the 2nd Floor of City Hall.
Permit Center hours are M, T, Th, & F from 8am-4:30pm and from 8:30am-12pm on Wednesdays.
This building plan review cannot be completed until we receive the following items:
1. Drawing Size – Please enlarge the drawings so all the information on them and additional
details can be easily read under working circumstances during construction. Maintain at
least 3/4” space around the perimeter so each drawing can be archived without loosing vital
information.
2. Floor Level – Please label each floor level on the drawing as either:
A. Main Floor, or
B. Lower Floor.
3. Bathrooms on Main Floor - The project description includes “remodel two bathrooms.” It is
unclear how each bathroom is being remodeled. Please clarify on the drawings.
4. Fireplaces – Please add notes on the plans as to whether they are gas appliances. Also for
each fireplace identify whether it is:

A. Existing (E) - to remain in the same location,
B. New (N) - located in the same place as the old fireplace, or
C. New (N) - relocated. If relocated, show the fireplace in the new location on the “After”
drawing.
5. Energy Code – Drawings:
A. On the “After” drawing, Lower Floor, please label the R-value and type of insulation
proposed for the furred out exterior wall at the Office and the Recreation Room.
B. Provide a section detail showing the new insulated furred wall and the existing wall
behind.
Please be aware that once the above corrections are made, subsequent city review may identify
