Resubmittals must be made at the Development Services Department on the 2nd
Floor of City Hall. Permit Center hours are M, T, Th, & F from 8am-4:30pm and from
8:30am-12pm on Wednesdays.
A3:
1. The Energy Code notes indicate a local exhaust fan with window vents will be the
means of “whole house ventilation”. The plans do not appear to indicate the
location, CFM, or hours of operation. Please indicate the location of the local
exhaust fan, CFM and operation.
2. The provided window and door schedules indicate a minimum U value of .30. The
window and door notes indicate a minimum value of .28. Please clarify and
indicate on the plans.

3. In accordance with IRC R302.3, the ADU must be separated from the existing
residence with a minimum of 1 hour fire rated construction. Or as indicated on
page 3 of Handout P1 provide by the City of Edmonds, in lieu of the 1 hour
construction interconnected smoke and CO detectors can be installed in such a
manner that the actuation of one alarm will activate the alarms in both primary and
accessory dwellings. Please indicate on the plans which method will unitized on
this project.
4. Section 606.3 of the 2015 UPC requires an independent water shut off for each
unit. Please indicate on the plan the location of the water supply shutoff on the
plan.
