Scope: Adult Family Home Compliance Inspection. This inspection id
for the Main Floor only.
Please be advised that the building plans for the above referenced project have
been disapproved for the purposes of obtaining a building permit. During a review
of the plans by the Building Division for compliance with the applicable building
codes, it was found that the following information, clarifications, or changes are
needed. Reviews by other divisions, such as Planning, Engineering, or Fire, may
result in additional comments that require attention beyond the scope of this letter.
Items that recur on this list appear in italics .
A complete review cannot be performed until the revised plans/documents,
including a written response in itemized letter format indicating where the
‘clouded’ or otherwise highlighted changes can be found on the revised plans,
have been submitted to a Permit Coordinator.
Resubmittals must be made at the Development Services Department on the 2nd
Floor of City Hall. Permit Center hours are M, T, Th, & F from 8am-4:30pm and from
8:30am-12pm on Wednesdays.
General:
1. An Adult Family Home (AFH) Local Building Inspection Checklist has been provided.
Please complete form sections as indicated and make corrections/clarify to plans, as per
the check list requirements.

Section 3:
4. Plans appears to have floor plan but does not clearly indicate what floor level it is. The
AFH Building Inspection Checklist states that there is to be a floor plan (Including all
floors). Please clarify/indicate floor level(s) on the plans.
5. Building Inspection Checklist states that all sleeping rooms (bedrooms) are to be
indicated as such in Alphabetical terms A, B, C, D, E and F. The Plans provided indicate
the rooms as Bedroom 1, 2, 4 and 5. Please make corrections so that bedrooms are
indicted alphabetically, as per Building Inspection Checklist.
Section 4:
6. Does not appear to be complete. Please complete this section of the form with the
information that is being requested.

7. The 2015 IRC section R325.5 code state that there are to be smoke detectors and Carbon
Monoxide alarm requirements. The plans indicate smoke detectors, but do not indicate
Carbon Monoxide Alarms. Please indicate the Carbon Monoxide alarms on the plans.
Notes:
I have provided some examples as to corrctions that need to be made fro your application. Please go
through the Adult Family Home Local Building Inspection Checklist and ensure that you have
completed the form and made corrections to the plans as requested by the AFH inspection checklist.
Upon review of the resubmitted documents, additional comments may be
