The following comments have been addressed from the comments letter dated August
5, 2019 for 8311 Talbot Rd:
1. Addressed by others
2. A lateral analysis was done for the rear wall line of the home. The second story
has been revised to show new shear walls and holdowns. The first story had no
changes to the existing load, and all anchorage bypasses this level.
3. All existing floor framing and existing roof framing information has been added
to the plan set. A foundation page showing the existing foundation information
has also been added to the plan set. The foundation plan is based on non-
destructive field observations. For those conditions where the load path has
changed, detail REM directs the contractor to verify the existing condition or
construct the elements that have been specified.
4. Addressed by others. Deck extension has been removed from the design. The
existing footprint will remain.
5. The existing deck remaining unchanged has been analyzed for a20 psf dead
load, 60 psf live load, and 25 psf snow load, and changes to the framing are
required. These changes are shown on the plan and the member calculations are
attached in the calculation packet. Detail DALL shows the lateral deck
attachment and detail EDL shows the exterior deck ledger connection, both of
which are required to support the loads listed, The minimum footing dimensions
are shown on the foundation pâg€, and the existing footings shall be verified in
the field.

11. Detail GPA has been added to show the guard post and rail connection.
Calculations are also added to the calculation packet provided. See the
architectural plans for the balances of guard information.
12.The post calculations are provided for the posts carrying the load from beam 2-1
(Ceiling Beam). The plans also detail how this load is carried down to the
ground. There was an existing dropped beam in this location, the load path has
not changed. The south end however did not have adequate support so
members along this load path have been upgraded.
13. Detail CBC has been created to show the connection from the ceiling beam to
the 4x10 dropped beam (beam 2-2). Refer to detail CB for any other information
about the ceiling beam.
14.All new headers are called out on the structural plans with the minimum required
member needed. Existing headers are labeled on the plan. All members need to
be verified in the field.
