Chapter 18.95.020 states clearlv that "minimum standards for off- street parking area dimensions shal-I not be less than as shown on Figure 18-1, Minimum Parking Lo Requirements for One- and Two -Way Traffic, Table for Cars. Your off-street parking plan does not conform with the dimension shown in Chapter 18.95, and is less than the minimum requirements. The City Engineer is therefore correct in rejecting your parking plan. The new tandem parking ordinance is on the Council Consent aizenda for June 19. Your development plans are therefore being reviewed under the existing standards. The City Engineer's position, and the Department's, on tandem parking was well known at the time you filed these development plans, and I know that you personafly had knowledge of it. Your next appeal would normally be to the Hearing Examiner. You should be aware that at least once before he has disagreed with the City Engineer and I on this issue. Staff is prohibited by City ordinance from appealing a decision by the Hearing, Examiner. Please contact the Planning Di%ision to formally appeal my interpretive decision and to schedule the Hearing Examiner meeting.
